Student Grants
On behalf of the Pangborn Executive Committee, the 2013 Pangborn Local Organising Committee is pleased to announce grants to students and young sensory professionals. The sensory and consumer science is an interdisciplinary field that needs to be continuously renovated and 2013 Pangborn Organising Committee believes young people bring this important fresh air. With this in mind, the grants aim at stimulating their participation in order to recognise the importance and contribution of their works. The Organising Committee will select the best submitted works, pay for the proponent registration, flight tickets (up to US$1,500.00 in economic class), and arrange the accommodation in a shared room (2 students per room).
GRANT APPLICATION DEADLINE: 15 MARCH 2013
To apply for this grant you must:
- Be under 35 years old if you are a professional (no upper age limit for students). Professionals please attached your ID to demonstrate you are under 35y.
- Submit an extended abstract (4 pages, see instructions below) before 15thMarch to Dr. Rosires Deliza (rosires.deliza@embrapa.br) as well as submitting a normal abstract online in the normal way
If you meet the selection criteria above and believe that your work may contribute to the development of the fantastic world of sensory and consumer science, submit your extended abstract now, and come to Rio de Janeiro to share and increase your experience with us! The grant notifications will be sent on 19thApril 2013 along with the abstract notifications.
Extended abstracts’ instructions
The extended abstract should have no more than four pages (tables and illustrations included), and must have the following items:
- Introduction
- Material & Methods
- Results and Discussion
- Conclusion
- References
In order to facilitate editing, the following rules should be adhered to:
- Use A4 page format (210 x 297 mm)
- Leave 2.5 cm margins at the top, bottom, right and left sides of each page
- Use Times New Roman Font.
- Use size 14 points bold for paper title, size 12 points bold for authors' names, size 12 points bold for section titles, and size 12 points regular for the text.
- Use single space between lines.
